Technicians for Africa, the free online Caterpillar curriculum for Africans seeking a new and exciting career as a service technician has been extending its reach in key African countries since its launch in 2015. It started with 3 pilot countries (Nigeria, DRC, and Mozambique) and has now spread to 34 countries across Africa including Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Comoros, Congo Brazzaville, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Mayotte, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles Islands, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
As of January 2021, the Technicians for Africa website has reached a key milestone of over 1 million views!
The Technicians for Africa program is leveraging Caterpillar’s existing, state-of-the-art e-learning solutions and providing African people who are interested in a career as a technician to upgrade their knowledge. Through successful completion of the program, participants are able to print a certificate of completion that supports their chances to be selected for a job.
